This is our guide to help your jewellery shine as beautifully tomorrow as it does today. Follow these simple practices to protect your ARIAH BELVI diamonds, gold, and gemstones, keeping them luminous for years ahead.

Store with intention – When your jewellery is not being worn, place it in a dry, airtight pouch or box (preferably separate from other pieces) to minimise scratching, tarnish and metal contact.

Last on, first off – Jewellery should be the final touch before you leave and the first thing you remove when you return. This avoids unnecessary contact with lotions, perfume, and hair products that can dull gemstones or residue on metal.

Mindful water exposure – Solid gold will not tarnish or “turn” in water — that’s one of the many reasons to invest in fine jewellery. However, consistent exposure to water (especially chlorinated pools, saltwater, or hot showers) can cause a gradual film build-up, dull the metal’s polish, and loosen settings over time. We recommend removing your pieces before swimming, bathing, or extended contact with water to preserve both shine and structural integrity.

Avoid harsh chemicals – Household cleaners, chlorine, and even beauty products can affect the surface of gemstones and degrade polishes over time.

Wipe after wear – Gently polish your piece with a soft, dry cloth after each wear to remove oils and maintain its luminous finish.

Use a mild soap & lukewarm water solution and a soft brush (or cloth) for gold, platinum and certified diamond pieces. Avoid vigorous scrubbing.

For gold (14 ct / 18 ct) and coloured gems: avoid steam, ultrasonic or harsh chemicals unless advised by your jeweller.

For diamonds: although they’re extremely hard, they can still get scratched (by other diamonds or hard materials) and settings can loosen—so periodic inspection is recommended.

For everyday wear pieces: consider a professional check-up every 12–18 months (for prongs, settings, metal integrity) so we at Ariah Belvi can help maintain your piece over a lifetime.

GOLD:

Gold is a soft precious metal. Although durable, it can be scratched or dented from everyday knocks. Remove before exercise or swimming. Store separately and clean with a soft cloth.

PLATINUM:

Platinum is extremely robust and ideal for daily-wear jewellery. It develops a lovely patina, but if you desire a bright polish you can have it professionally refinished. Clean using mild soap and water, soft brush.

CERTIFIED DIAMONDS:

We exclusively use certified diamonds, selected for exceptional quality and longevity. Even so, diamonds can chip (especially at pointed ends) or loosen from settings under rough wear, so treat with care and schedule inspections if you notice any movement.

NATURAL GEMSTONES:

Every coloured gemstone we use is natural, responsibly sourced and hand-cut. Colours can fade or surfaces can craze under harsh chemicals, extreme heat or extended sun exposure. Clean with a soft damp cloth; never tissue or paper towel. Avoid contact with perfumes and pool water.

When travelling, keep your jewellery in a dedicated travel pouch with soft lining.
Store pieces individually: bracelets should lie flat, necklaces unclasped to avoid tangles, rings separately cushioned to prevent banging.
For long-term winter or off-season storage: ensure the storage area is cool, dry and dark; consider silica-gel sachets to reduce humidity.
